Co and Extra Curricular After-School Activities At AIS, we believe in a holistic approach to learning, and as our school philosophy is to educate the whole child, we place great emphasis on the role of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Extra-Curricular Activities Students are encouraged to participate in Extra-Curricular “Out of Class” activities whether they are organized by the school or by an outside organization. Co-Curricular Activities These activities occur once a week for approximately one hour at a time, on Wednesdays. AIS students are expected to be socially-responsible citizens who learn through service to the community, and who recognize their role in the local and global community. To achieve these learning goals, we require our students to engage in community service learning. We integrate community service learning projects into the classroom in the Lower School, and we require the Secondary School students to complete a set number of service hours in the community. AIS has its own Key Club on campus which is an international coeducational service club. Key Club is an international student-led organization which provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character and develop leadership.
