Emotional and Pastoral Care

The emotional and pastoral care department at AIS strives to nurture and develop well-rounded, emotionally stable students through the provision of professional, ethical, and confidential counseling. It provides a comprehensive program that addresses the academic, emotional, career, and personal/social development of students. The EPD is divided into three streams; Emotional and Pastoral Counseling, College Counseling, and Career Counseling.
In addition to the above, the counseling department teaches personal, social, and health education as part of the school’s curriculum. It offers the following services to students and staff:

  • Individual Private Counseling
  • Class Counseling/Personal Social and Health (PSHE)
  • Small-Group Counseling
  • Workshops
  • Staff support 
  • Parent Support

PSHE is a program organized to help the students gain knowledge, understanding, and practical skills necessary for healthy living, responsibility, safety, and productivity. PSHE is a mandatory curriculum course for all grade levels. Included in their course study are:

  • Emotional and Physical Wellness
  • Mental Health
  • Puberty
  • Global Awareness
  • Leadership Skills
